Rock music developed during the 1960s, especially in the United Kingdom and the United States. The exact period of time beginning the history of rock music is not known. There were rock and roll elements showing up in blues songs and old country western songs as far back as the 20-s and 30-s. Rock music also draw strongly on a number of other genre such as blues and folk, and included influences from jazz, classical and other musical source.
This style of music is very different from modern rock music that has evolved over the decades and branched out into a huge number of different genres and sub-genres to create music that is a way of life. Anyway, the still prominent fact that rock music is a form of self-expression.
In the history of rock music was a lot of icons. One of the first rock stars were as follows are names like Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard. These first stars of rock music history led to the popularization of rock culture that have shaken the world. The fashion styles, and rock culture that followed the early history of rock music were made possible by these stars.
In the early 1960-s, Britain took on a whole new aspect of rock and created a rage with bands such as the Rolling Stones and the Animals. During this era, the Yard birds also debuted and although they were in the shade of the Rolling Stones. Nonetheless, it was the birth of the Beatles that created the mania of rock music around the world. After the Beatles, the next generation of rockers were the "Kinks" and the "Who". The "Who" had changed rock music forever with their mechanically amplified guitars and songs.
The 1970-s saw the death of Jimmy Hendrix, and the Doors Jim Morrison, and rock music cooled down. New bands, such as "Nirvan"a and the "Eagles", began a more peaceful revival of country music mixed with lighten rock. The 70-s were characterized by a quieter time in rock music.
The 1990-s saw the age of rock music, and this new rage spread all over the world, and saw an era of many different genre of rock music. The 90-s were also the decade of heavy metal and bands such as "Guns", "Roses" and "Metallica". This style of music split into a myriad of other sub-genres such as the funk-metal of "Red Hot Chilli Peppers", "Rage Against the Machine" and "Faith No More".
It is hard to believe that rock music began with one man and flourished over the past fiftieth. The Rock music has evolved to become an array of different styles and sub-styles, which provide entertainment for a multitude of different tastes in music. What the future holds for rock music may not be known, even if it is safe to say the rock music will still be around for the next five decades.
